NITEC JSC employee shortlisted for GIMI AWARDS in Best Public Innovator 2024 category

Askar Sinchev, Head of the International Cooperation Department of National Information Technologies JSC, became a finalist in the GIMI INNOVATION AWARDS in the Best Public Innovator 2024 category. The award is given for innovative ideas and innovations in various fields that have a significant impact on public and government processes.

The GIMI INNOVATION AWARDS is a platform recognizing those who seek to implement change and develop digital transformation in the public sector. Organized by the Global Innovation Management Institute (GIMI), the competition recognizes excellence across a range of sectors, including public, private and social. This year's awards cover 12 categories, including Best Private Sector Innovation, Best Social Innovation and Best Innovative Entrepreneur for Start-ups.

Along with independent scientific inventions published in indexed scientific journals by Askar Sinchev, one of the projects that became the basis for the application became Smart Data Ukimet. The project was launched back in 2018, with the aim of supporting informed decision-making at the level of various ministries, improving the quality of public services and increasing operational efficiency.

International distribution is also an important aspect of the project. Today, as Head of International Cooperation, Askar Sinchev is actively involved in promoting Smart Data Ukimet and other GovTech solutions outside Kazakhstan. In particular, domestic IT solutions have been successfully transferred to Tajikistan, Togo and Sierra Leone under the Kazakhstan grant programme of the Kazakhstan Agency for International Development (KazAID). This collaboration opens up new opportunities to apply the technology in other countries and helps to solve similar problems on an international scale.

The competition results will be announced on October 23, after hearing of all the finalists.
