The service for self-restriction from gambling games and bets has been digitized and is now available in the eGov Mobile application.

Now Kazakhstani citizens as well as foreigners permanently residing on the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan can apply for restriction of their participation in gambling games and bets for a period from 6 to 12 months using the eGov Mobile app. The new service significantly reduces the time required to process applications and facilitates the process of self-exclusion from gambling games. This allows citizens, especially those who are prone to excessive gambling, restricting access to all the official gambling and online betting platforms that have been licensed under the jurisdiction of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

To apply, go to the "Services" tab, then to the "Sports" section. From the list of services, you need to select the "Service for restricting participation in gambling games and (or) bets". On the page that opens, specify the time limit in months, click "Request online". Next, you need to sign the service using a quick access code or biometrics. After the service signing, a status page will appear displaying a confirmed application. An application should be submitted by a person wishing to restrict participation in gambling games and bets and signed using a personal digital signature. Submission of an application by third parties is not allowed.

"Provision of service for self-restriction from participation in gambling games and bets through the eGov Mobile app is one of the tools in fight against gambling addiction, which has recently become a pressing issue in society. The new service allows users to control their participation in gambling games and set restrictions on access to them, which significantly reduces the risk of financial crises and personal issues associated with gambling addiction," said Rostislav Konyashkin, Chairman of the Board, National Information Technologies JSC.

Note that if an application for the service was submitted earlier, it is possible to get the service again. It means that re-applying, you will get a notification on previously submitted application and by clicking "Yes" the term of the restriction will be extended.

After submission, an application is immediately registered by the service and a person is included into the list of persons restricted from participating in gambling games and bets, without the right to withdraw the application.

Each request of gambling business entities will be processed individually and only based on a provided IIN without disclosing other personal data of the persons on the list. Gambling business entities will not have access to the entire list.

Previously, at the National Kurultai, the President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev instructed to strengthen gambling restrictions for certain categories of citizens.

The service became available to users thanks to the cooperation of the Ministry of Digital Development, Innovations and Aerospace Industry along with the Tourism Industry Committee, Ministry of Tourism and Sports and National Information Technologies JSC.
