Students will be able to submit applications for admission to military departments through eGov.kz portal

Starting from February 1, 2026, students of Kazakhstani universities will be able to submit applications for admission to military departments fully online via the eGov.kz portal. The new document submission format simplifies participation in the competitive selection process for reserve officer and sergeant training programmes and makes the process more transparent and convenient for students across the country.

Training at a military department enables students to receive additional professional training alongside their main education. Upon completion of the programme, graduates are awarded the military rank of reserve lieutenant or junior reserve sergeant.

Applications through the eGov.kz portal may be submitted by full-time undergraduate students. Applications will be accepted until September 30, 2026.

"Previously, students had to complete the application process using paper-based documents directly at their universities. We are gradually moving high-demand services to a digital format in order to reduce the number of in-person visits and make interactions between citizens and the state simpler and faster. The online application process for military departments is another step in this direction” said Daulet Bekmanov, Chairman of the Board of National Information Technologies JSC.

The new application format also enables the automation of verification checks. Before an application is submitted, the system automatically verifies information about an applicant with psychoneurological, narcological, and tuberculosis dispensaries, as well as data on the presence of a disability and any criminal record. Identity verification data and education records are retrieved from state information systems without user involvement. If a contact phone number is available in the Mobile Citizens Database (MCD), it is filled in automatically; if not, it must be entered manually.

To get the service, the user needs to:

  • log in to the eGov.kz portal and go to the "Homepage" – "For Citizenry" section - "Military registration and security" - "Military service";
  • select the service “Acceptance of applications for admission to military departments at higher and postgraduate education institutions” and click “Request Online” button;
  • fill-in the required information and select a military department and training programme;
  • grant consent to the use of personal data;
  • sign the request using one of the available signing methods.

The service delivery result will be available in the personal account - "History of Services Received" section. In the event of a positive decision, an applicant is issued an electronic document signed with the digital signature of an authorized employee. In the event of a refusal, a reasoned notification specifying the grounds for the decision is sent.

The application review period is up to five working days from the date of submission.

The public service was implemented thanks to the cooperation of the Public Services Committee of the Ministry of Artificial Intelligence and Digital Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan, National Information Technologies JSC and Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
