The Ministry of Artificial Intelligence and Digital Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan, together with National Information Technologies JSC, has introduced Alem.Cloud – a platform for submitting applications to use the resources of the eponymous national supercomputer cluster. The Alem.Cloud supercomputer is included in the TOP500 ranking of the world’s most powerful systems, where it holds the 86th position, confirming its status as one of the region’s leading computing centers.

The resources of Alem.Cloud have become available to legal entities, namely government agencies, research and educational institutions, startups, private companies, as well as residents of Astana Hub. Experts from NITEC along with specialists from the Ministry of Artificial Intelligence and Digital Development, have developed resource allocation rules that take into account the strategic importance of projects and the objectives of national AI development.

Priority areas for using the supercomputer include: public administration, education and healthcare, agriculture and water management, the oil and gas sector, the mining and metallurgical complex and energy, geology and exploration, transport and logistics, industry and construction, robotics and drones, cybersecurity, and financial technologies.

To submit an application through the platform, a user needs to select the amount of resources (GPU, CPU, RAM, and SSD storage), specify the rental period, and provide a description of the project. For this purpose, the platform includes a calculator that allows users to estimate the cost and generate a configuration summary required for the project. Each application is signed with the legal entity’s digital signature (DS).

The national supercomputer ensures stable and uninterrupted operation of its computing resources. The services are available 24/7, the data is protected by backups, and compliance with the SLA ensures high availability and predictable performance. This enables companies and organizations to confidently plan and implement their projects.
