NITEC JSC to export eGov modules to the Togolese Republic
National Information Technologies JSC (NITEC JSC) and the Togo Digital Agency (ATD) signed license agreements on the transfer of digital components of three e-Gov modules. The signing ceremony took place on June 18, 2024, in the capital of Togo, Lomé.
The cooperation between the two countries was discussed earlier during the official visit of the Head of State, His Excellency Mr. Faure Essozimna Gnassingbé, to Kazakhstan in November 2023. Later, the Ministry of Digital Development, Innovations and Aerospace Industry of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Ministry of Digital Economy and Transformation of the Togolese Republic signed a memorandum of understanding at the Digital Almaty 2024.
As a result of signing license agreements, NITEC JSC will transfer 3 e-Gov modules: Showcase of Smart Bridge services, a unified platform of government agencies` websites (EPIR) and "Smart Data Ukimet" information and analytical system. This will allow the technical teams of the Togo Digital Agency to get powerful tools that can accelerate the development of digitalized public services and promote data-driven governance. Moreover, bilateral experience sharing will be carried out under the agreements.
"The export of our e–government modules is an indicator of our digital ecosystem viability and the result of work done by local IT specialists. This is the third country to which we export our services. At the end of last year, we exported our IT solutions to Tajikistan, recently signed a license agreement with the Republic of Sierra Leone and will now begin transferring modules to Togo. We are glad to have the opportunity to share our experience and hope that our IT solutions will soon be working effectively in different parts of the world," said Dmitriy Mun, Acting Chairman of the Board, NITEC JSC.
Commenting on these agreements, Ms. Kafui Ekouhoho, Managing Director of the Togo Digital Agency, said: “Kazakhstan has made good progress in the field of digital governance and the creation of an interoperable digital ecosystem focused on user convenience. These agreements symbolize Togo's willingness to collaborate with other countries in accelerating its digital transformation".
It should be reminded that today Kazakhstan holds high positions in international e-government rankings. According to the United Nations E-Government Survey, our country ranks 28th out of 193 countries in the UN Global E-Government Development Index, and 8th in the Quality of Online Services Index.
For information, the Togolese Republic (Togo) is a state in West Africa. The capital is Lome. Togo has a population of over 8 million people. The main exports are cotton, coffee and cocoa. Togo is also the world's 4th largest exporter of phosphates.
