The eGov Mobile app introduced a new service to receive reimbursement of home-schooling expenses for children with disabilities
Kazakhstani citizens can apply for the service “Reimbursement of Home-Schooling Expenses for Children with Disabilities” through the eGov Mobile application. The service allows users to submit an application for additional social assistance remotely. It is available to parents who organize home-schooling for a child with a disability in cases where attending an educational institution is not possible.
Reimbursement is provided based on an individual study plan and a certificate from the educational institution confirming that the child is being educated at home. The payment is intended to partially cover expenses related to supporting the educational process.
Reimbursement is made from the month of application until the month indicated as the end date in the certificate. The payment is terminated upon the expiration of the established period or if the child’s form of education changes.
The amount of reimbursement for educating children with disabilities under an individual learning plan is determined by a decision of the local representative bodies (maslikhats).
To get the service, the user needs to:
- log in to the eGov Mobile app and go to the "eGov Services" section – "Benefits, allowances, pensions";
- select the service "Reimbursement of home-schooling expenses for children with disabilities" and fill-in all the necessary information;
- sign the service using one of the available signing methods;
- check the status of the notification on the document processing in the “Service History” section.
The service is provided within 8 working days from the date the complete set of documents is registered by the government agency. The compensation is provided for the period specified in the certificate from the educational institution, without automatic extension for a new term. If the child’s disability period expires, a re-assessment must be carried out and the application submitted again.
The application for the service can also be submitted online via the eGov.kz portal or offline at a Citizen Service Center.
Over 8 000 applications for this service have been submitted through the e-Gov portal since the beginning of 2025.
The service has been implemented by the Public Services Committee of the Ministry of Artificial Intelligence and Digital Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan, in cooperation with National Information Technologies JSC and the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of the Population of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
