NITEC and ITU strengthen collaboration in GovStack project supported by EDB grant funding

Earlier, National Information Technologies JSC (NITEC) and the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) signed a cooperation agreement as part of the GovStack project, which aims to develop e-government in the CIS countries. As part of the Digital Almaty 2025 Forum, the originals of the signed agreements were exchanged. Also at the forum, an agreement was signed between NITEC and the Eurasian Development Bank (EDB) to provide a grant for the implementation of the GovStack project.

GovStack is an international initiative launched in 2020 by the ITU, Estonia, Germany and the Digital Impact Alliance with the support of the United Nations. The project focuses on accelerating digital transformation in countries around the world and brings together experts from the private sector, civil society and government.

The GovStack project aims to assist stakeholders in the CIS region (governments and institutions) to build capacity, develop and implement digital services using the GovStack approach, tools and resources, as well as the expertise and experience of the programme partners.

Under the project, each participating country shares best practices to develop e-government and improve public services. NITEC will share its experience in building e-government, developing reference architectures, reengineering business processes and transforming public services to a proactive format.

««We are grateful for the trust and realize how important and ambitious this project is. Working with such international partners is not only a great responsibility, but also a unique opportunity to make a significant contribution to the development of e–government in Kazakhstan and other CIS countries. We will make every effort to make the GovStack project a success», said Bayan Konirbayev, Chairman of the Board, NITEC.

It is important to note that NITEC's contribution was made possible thanks to the grant funding provided by the Eurasian Development Bank under the agreement signed between NITEC and EDB. This underlines the importance of the project and its contribution to the development of effective solutions that support national digital transformation.
